All about Insects...

In May, we attended a bugs workshop organised by Jungle classroom.
There are lots of activities for the children to understand and play.
It is mostly outdoor fun for all parents and kids!
Well here you can see that the tutors are reading a book
and explaining how the Hungry Caterpillar
is roaming around and eating all those food!
After explaining all the details about insects and how to identify a bug,
the children get to go off and catch one.
Later, they also make a colourful caterpillar.....
Do some exercise, play some games
and lastly, visit a pig farm!
Awesome!

Recycling Construction Art

Here's one of the recent activity that I did with my kid.
I named it Recyling Construction Art.

Materials that you need:

Any old bottle caps
Toilet rolls
Foil
Different small boxes
Masking tape / any tape
Glue
Colour pencils

What you will need to ask your kid is:
  1. What do you want to make?
  2. Which material you want to use?
  3. What can this make? An eye? A face?
  4. Where you want it to be?
  5. How you want it to be? Wrap it? Glue it?
  6. Do you want to cut these?
Here are some sample questions that you may like to ask your kid, so they can contruct it all by themselves. After all it is for them to create and
use what materials that you have on hand.
Lastly, ask them to draw out what they have construct.
If you like to ask them to draw first then construct is even better.
