Hoo La La Circles

This June we had fun with circles!
I incooperated Wassily Kandinsky colourful circles into our first session art project.
After introducing Kandinsky and his work to the children,
they started painting their own version of Kandinsky inspired circles in squares.
After the painting session, we are making it big this time.
So we do giant artwork by using recycle toilet rolls and caps.
The children enjoy making little circle prints all over the big piece of paper.
After a lot of printing and finger paint the circles,
they got tired a bit but worth the effort, as they are making a big art piece!
So time for breakfast after all the hard work!
This time they are making round circle Jam sandwiches; yummy!
They are making Mickey Mouse, Puppy Paws... using round cookie cutter!
Oh lastly, we all love balloons,
We made the children write and draw circles on balloons.
Oooo, some of them write their own names on the balloons too!
Yay, we all had fun again.
See you all next time!

Easter Fun in March ~ (ORG)

After a long break from February, we are back again in March
for the Easter theme Reading Group session.
We start with reading a book to the children.
The title of the book is:
Strawberry Shortcake: Have a Sweet Easter, 2010
by Grosset & Dunlap Penguin Young Readers Group, New York.
Next activity is: Paint the egg!
We have all little ones explore with different colours and patterns.

Here you can see the little bunnies that the children bring and their painted eggs.

Oh we also did have some cut and paste fun for the children to
Trace, Cut, Colour and paste.
Here are the paper bunnies that they make!

Ooooo, we also have a surprise birthday party
for the child whose birthday falls on March!
The birthday girl's mommy brought in the cake and
all children have fun celebrating!
Seems like it is a snow white theme!
So you know who's the birthday girl?

So lastly, all enjoy the cake and the lovely party packs!
Thanks to all who participated;
See you all again in April!

Exciting Rock. Paper. Scissors Day!

It is a hot sunny day, and all children are excited about the Bunny making session with
our guests Artists from Cardpuccino, Ms. Cindy and Ms. Josie.
The fun begins with the children tracing and cutting away.
You can see how they love the scissors!
They cannot wait to start cutting the bunny ears.
Now the assembling begins, and tada..... here's the rock bunny!

Oh look how lovely my bunny is at the garden!
It loves being there too!

The second session starts by introducing to the children about paper sculpture.
Different techniques are being taught and
they start making them with some colourful papers.
Here's how their paper sculpture look like!
All in 3-dimensional  form!
Next we did some rock art painting. The children had fun painting it
but due to time constrain, they have to finish it at home!
Well, am glad to say they all had fun!
Thanks to our guest artist Cindy and Josie again.
Hope in future we will have more activities like these!

Lastly, thanks to all who participated.
You all make this playgroup fun and exciting!

Point to Circles Art Theme

The year 2013 our CAP starts off with an Art theme.
Point to Circles was the concept for our first playgroup in 2013.
We start off with a simple introduction to Pointillism Art.
A brief intro to Seurat and Paul Signac; both were pointillism artists.
After introducing the artists and about pointillism art; we started with the ART on MUG project. As we need to baked the mug so that the drawings will stay on, so we kicked start with all the doodling.
I am so impressed with all their creations, they were really drawing circles and points using different colors and techniques. Really fun watching them doing their Art piece!
Next we had all the kids doing points art work using cotton swaps, they really have fun dotting away!
Here you can see all their masterpieces! Brilliant isn't!

Next, I asked the children to counting points on each objects that I show to them; the idea is to let them count and know the shape. Here I do talked about 3 dimensional art!
Lastly, we have fun playing Pointing Game, all of the children were supposed to point at the different parts of the body and know their friends name too. It is a good way for them to learn the body parts!

Overall, I do hope they all have fun, thanks to all who participated and make this playgroup fun!
