September Ballerinas - (ORG)

It's (ORG)September Reading again, and this time

the theme is:

Ballerina

Who does not love ballerinas?

Especially young little girls,

they just have to dress up like one too!

We start off with a book about a Ballerina

who loves to dance and tries to be perfect.

The Title is:

The Not So Perfect Ballerina

Written by: Nicola Baxter

Illustrated by: Pauline Siewert 

After the story telling sessions,

we started to do some simple stretching.

Just a warm up for them, and to

learn a little about ballerina stretching exercises.

 

Well by the end of the story, we ask the children to pose like a ballerina.

We also did teach them the Plié and 5 basic ballet positions.

See how lovely they are!

Here you can see that they are happily practising their skills.

Tip toeing, jumping, bending their knees, etc.

They are having so much fun!

Now the little ones do the final pose of a ballerina.

Lift one foot up and gracefully put your hands out to balance.

The Arabesque! Of course they all need a little help there.

I guess this was an introductory of ballet to all the kids.

Also, here only Little Tiff started formal ballet class

compare to all, and she did help

to show the other kids what it takes to be a ballerina.

Good job to all, hope you all learn to ballet now.

Child Posing for a Fashion Magazine!

Excuse me, This posting here is not related to any Creative Play but instead of a Child posing for a camera!

Yes, it is a Fashion shooting for a child. I am featuring this as I think most parents would love to have their kids having fun posing in front of a camera due to our advance technology, we just cannot help it, right? 

And I am sure your child will love it!

Here are some guidelines that you can follow:

- Find a location

- Prepare different dresses or sets of clothing

- Find suitable Accessories

- Get ready some props (remember they are just children)

 Here I have some examples of the fashion shooting photos.

It is easier if you choose a plain background, easy to work with.

Create the mood, fun is the key! Engage in conversations and just snap away, 

you will be surprise how easy it is!

 Remember, fashion shoot does not need the child to smile all the time, be natural is the key.

You can try do some pose and ask your little one to just follow, they will come out with their own version.

 See the little Teddy is the prop, just ask your little one to play with the prop and get ready your camera!

 Here comes the hardest part, pose with feel ~ you must know what mood you want before you ask your little one to pose for it. This one is a steady pose, I asked her to pose in a certain way by demonstrating for her and when she imitates it just snap away and be shocked at!

Lastly, remember to have fun, no shouting and say this is wrong because anything can happen and nothing can be wrong, just the timing. So always get ready with your camera, children are faster then your lenses!

Hope you enjoy the shooting although it is tedious but you will not regret it!

Holidays in November (ORG)

Our Reading Group Theme: Holiday

All children will learn about what holiday is, as most are still in Pre-school,

so they still have a vague idea of what holiday is!

Here we have all mommies reading for the children, all concentrating hard as you can see.

After the reading session, we have the luggage packing game!

Now all the kids know what to pack in their luggage next time, no toys allowed!

 

 Time to roll, every child takes turn to pull and roll the luggage.... so they want to go holiday soon!

All the children have fun, they enjoy the reading and activity session!

Time for book swaping again.... as you can see here we did use different media for reading not just books but also ipad! All children knows what is an ipad, and how to use it!

Well they need to know anyway! :P

Little Achivements... and still a long way to go!

Hi folks,

As you all know I have been busy lately, day and night, caught a little flu, dealing with my 2 kids was not an easy task especially they are still young. Well, here I would just like to share with you the outcome of our small Reading Group. (ORG)

Here we have our Little Tiffany, although still do not know how to read words,

but she can do a role play of story tellling to her friends.

She pick up a book and try to tell the story just by looking at the pictures, how wonderful!

All kids also knows how to sit down and listen while their friend is telling the story.

Clever right? So all of you folks out there can simply set up your own reading group

for kids their age and see they do learn fast!

 

 

Another wonderful story is another member of our reading group actually won 1st prize for his story telling competition as his school. He is just 4 years old!
